Philosophy Of Learning
Our Mission statement states:
“At Toynton-All-Saints Primary School we want the young people in our care to leave as well rounded human beings, inspired and motivated to continue their learning with respect for the views and beliefs of other people.”
Our philosophy of learning is centred on this statement. We place great importance on the need for children to work hard, because we want them to achieve high standards in all that they do at school. We aim always to create a caring atmosphere in which children can develop socially and intellectually to the best of their abilities and potentials. Learning at Toynton-All-Saints is child-centred, encouraging investigation, enquiry and curiosity. We are all learners here at Toynton-All-Saints Primary School; in our doing so we act as models of inspiration and motivation for all.
We currently provide a broad and balanced curriculum that supports the learning of the children and which draws not only on the expertise of the both experienced and committed staff, but also on others from within the community and other educational providers. Our curriculum is currently under review to consider the outcomes of the recent Curriculum Review (Sir Jim Rose 2009) and we are drafting a new thematic curriculum that will incorporate:
- Key skills
- Expertise from within the school and beyond
- Community Links
- The Outdoor Classroom
