Curriculum Enrichment Activities
Curriculum enrichment is about using the talents of others from outside of the school in combination with the talents of staff within the school to enrich and enhance education. By working together in this way the pupils have a priority time during which they can develop their social and emotional health, physical skills and learning. We currently work with King Edward VI Humanities College, Linkage College and The Coastal Schools Sports Partnership in addition to our valued team of staff to provide this for the children.
Currently for Autumn Term 2, the curriculum enrichment activities that children will participate in are:
Tuesday Afternoon – Freestyle
Lisa Jay Dance Company from Skegness works with KS2 children on performing and rehearsing Freestyle dance.
Tuesday Afternoon – Sports and Healthy Lifestyle
Students and their Sports coaches from Linkage Trust work with groups of children across KS2 developing sports skills and knowledge of healthy lifestyle. Children from the school experience and develop skills of working with a range of diversity as well as learning new skills and respect.
Wednesday Afternoon
Sports with Mrs Hurst A range of multi-skills activities are experienced in this session that are designed to support children’s learning of skills and knowledge required to be part of a team, work competitively and accurately.
Food Technology and Nutrition with Mrs Goldie Where does fod come from? This group investigate this and then learn to use basic skills associated with preparing food and meals combined with understanding the safety, social skills and knowldge behind cooking and nutrition.
Nature Skills and Mrs Cragg The love of nature should be engendered early and must never be lost. The school has a harvesting garden as well as greenhouse, pond and wild nature area to encourage curiosity, enquiry and a love of science.
