Outdoor Classroom
From Early Years Foundation Stage to Year 6, our outdoor classroom is a fantastic asset that uniquely enhances an already well-resourced school.
The Early Years and Key Stage 1 children have access to a developing Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Outdoor Area, attached to their class. This area encourages and develops:
- physical and motor skills;
- social skills;
- investigative and enquiry skills;
- creative and writing skills;
- numeracy and problem-solving skills.
The area is currently under canopy and plans are underway to extend it further and to create free-flow from the main classroom to the outdoor area via French doors.
The playground is marked with the Famous Five Multi-Skills Playground markings.

This playground area not only provides the children with an imaginative, creative and positive play experience, but also provides a canvas for many curricular lessons such as Mathematics, Science, Literacy and History. Positive play is currently being developed and will encourage children to take on the responsibility of being ‘Positive Leaders’ during break times.
The school’s grounds include a garden, sports field, climbing equipment and a huge conservation area that contains a pond, wild nature area, exploratory area, greenhouse and large shed for use as an additional learning zone.
Toynton-All- Saints’ grounds provide a wealth of learning opportunities for the children. More detail will be added here as our new curriculum is developed.
